In honour of Mandela Day 2024 Exemplar REITail, Atteridge Stadium Centre and Delivery Ka Speed partnered to make a meaningful impact for survivors of GBV, substance abuse and trauma.
Together they painted, furnished and donated assorted items to the Atteridgeville SAPS Trauma Unit, embodying the spirit of #ChangeforGood.
The initiative is rooted in the shared mission of all three organisations: to prioritize community well-being and invest in the lives of individuals. This shared vision for change has seen Exemplar and Delivery Ka Speed working together for almost 18 months to provide local upliftment for community members throughout the Exemplar portfolio of retail centres.
By transforming the trauma unit, the teams will be creating a safe and welcoming environment for victims in need, reinforcing their commitment to driving positive change and dignity for all.
Exemplar owns, builds and manages a portfolio of vibrant rural and township retail spaces that uplift communities, ensuring that local needs are met through accessible shopping experiences.
Delivery Ka Speed provides reliable and accessible last mile delivery services that connect communities, ‘ka speed’, while Atteridge Stadium Centre serves as a hub for community engagement and development, having recently hosted their first annual career day expo for local learners and University students.
Together the team assisted with the following:
- Sponsorship and painting of the trauma unit
- Donation of chairs, desks and office furniture
- An Asus i5 laptop and printer
- R15 000 worth of toys, stationery and supplies
- Three Samsung tablets
- A Wi-Fi router and three months unlimited internet
Mandela Day encourages individuals and organizations to act and inspire change within their communities. This partnership exemplifies that call, turning words into action and demonstrating that collective efforts can yield significant results.
“Working together, we can transform lives and uplift our community. This project is another step in our journey of creating positive spaces,” says Pertunia Mampuru, the centre manager at Atteridge Stadium Centre.
Through this collaborative effort Exemplar, Delivery Ka Speed, and Atteridge Stadium Centre are setting a powerful example of how businesses can unite for a common purpose. Their joint commitment to investing in people and prioritizing community welfare will drive lasting change and inspire others to join the cause.
“For us as Delivery Ka Speed, giving back to our townships is very important as our business predominately trades in townships. We are always honoured to be part of such initiatives to provide #ChangeForGood. As the country is battling with high rates of GBV statistics, it is great for us to know that we are assisting in providing a safe place for victims to feel free and be able to express themselves freely. It is very important to always know that there is a safe place to go. We provided the centre with high-speed internet, laptop and other electronics to assist them with their daily duties, such as reports,” says founder of Delivery Ka Speed, Godiragetse Mogajane.
